In dogs, oral problems are frequent and painful. Also, if they can have benign manifestations, they can also be at the origin of serious health concerns. No mystery, as for us, prevention remains the best way to prevent them!

WHY BRUSH MY DOG'S TEETH ?

Brushing your dog's teeth allows you to remove deposits that are more or less installed on his teeth. It can be simply impurities from food intake, tartar or plaque. Brushing also helps to freshen the breath.

It is also important to know that certain dogs or certain factors favor oral disorders. For example, small breed dogs are more affected by these issues, as well as animals fed mainly with canned food for dogs.

Finally, regular maintenance of your pet's teeth is the best way to prevent major difficulties related to the development of tartar, which is then eliminated during brushing.

HOW TO BRUSH HIS TEETH?

The most effective way, but not necessarily the easiest: a toothbrush or a finger device and a dog toothpaste! To increase palatability and make brushing more pleasant, dog toothpastes can be flavored with beef or chicken, for example.

As with everything, it's best to teach your dog to have his mouth handled at an early age, to ensure his cooperation as an adult. The ideal is to brush 3 to 5 times a week.

Be careful to only use oral hygiene products reserved for your pet: the toothbrush is smaller and softer than ours, and their toothpaste often does not require rinsing and can be swallowed without any problem.

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS TO BRUSHING

If brushing your faithful companion's teeth is a real headache, you should know that there are alternative solutions for taking care of his teeth:

Chewable care or oral treats: to be distributed daily to your dog, they have an adapted composition as well as a specific shape inviting your pet to chew while brushing his teeth. A greedy way to take care of him! Also, it's better to choose a chewable treat rather than one that is rich in sugar and less beneficial for his dental hygiene.

Oral toys: like treats, they have a specific texture that helps clean your pet's teeth when chewed

Lotion, gel, spray or oral powder: to be placed in your pet's mouth or mixed with its food or drinking water, these products are enriched with specific agents to clean the teeth and limit the appearance of oral problems.
